Claremont/Buckner Terrace

  • Overview of Claremont/Buckner Terrace

Two of East Dallas’ best kept secrets are the neighborhoods of Buckner Terrace and Claremont. Located in the 75227 and 75228 zip code, Claremont is a residential community comprised of approximately 600 homes in Dallas, Texas. Just southeast of White Rock Lake and Forest Hills, Claremont is north of I-30. Claremont is bounded by Dorrington Drive to the northeast, and Highland Road, Ferguson Road, and Claremont Drive to the northwest. Claremont is a well-established neighborhood known for its affordable housing options. Development in Claremont began in the mid-1950s. Most, but not all, homes in Claremont are cottages and one-story ranch homes. There are exceptions, but most homes have 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with 2 car garages. The average home size is 1,750 square feet with an average lot size around ¼ acre.

Buckner Terrace, also in East Dallas, Texas, is found to the southeast of White Rock Lake. Buckner Terrace is bounded by Buckner Road to the east, Lawnview to the west, and Forney Road to the south. A small portion of the community extends north beyond I-30 and is bounded by St. Francis Road to the north and east and Hunnicut Road to the north and west. Because of its close proximity to Dallas, Buckner Terrace is a great place for commuters to buy a home. In addition to being a few miles from downtown Dallas, Buckner Terrace is also in close proximity to great shopping, dining, entertainment and recreation opportunities.

Both Claremont and Buckner Terrace are near White Rock Lake and all of the recreational options it affords. Also nearby, the Dallas Arboretum is found on the southeast side of White Rock Lake, on the other side of Forest Hills from Claremont. Just west of Claremont is Samuell Boulevard, a picturesque Dallas public park and also nearby is the Tenison Park Golf Course. In addition to all these great amenities, Claremont and Buckner Terrace also have wonderful real estate options for prospective homebuyers to consider. Homes in both of these communities tend to be one-story ranch-style homes and cottages, however there are exceptions with a few homes of other architectural styles as well. Typically homes range in size between 1,200 to 3,700 square feet and lot sizes are usually between .18 to .25 acre, though there are exceptions.
