Lake Highlands

  • Overview of Lake Highlands

In the northeast portion of Dallas, Texas you will find the charming community known as Lake Highlands. Lake Highlands is comprised of more than 15 impressive neighborhoods such as Alexander’s Village, Highland Meadows, L Streets, Merriman Park North, Oak Highlands, Town Creek, Urban Reserve and Woodlands on the Creek, among others. Lake Highlands is not an official subdivision, but is generally thought to encompass most of Dallas City Council District 10 in the 75231, 75238 and 75243 zip codes.

Lake Highlands is located north of White Rock Lake and Northwest Highway, and east of White Rock Creek. Most of the Lake Highlands area is served by the acclaimed Richardson Independent School District, only a small portion falling within the Dallas Independent School District boundaries. A few of the district’s elementary schools are: Aikin Elementary, Hamilton Park Pacesetter Elementary, Forestridge Elementary, Lake Highlands Elementary, Moss Haven, Skyview Elementary and White Rock Elementary schools, among several others. The middle schools are Forest Meadow Junior High, Lake Highlands Junior High and Liberty Junior High schools. High school students attend Lake Highlands Freshman Center then Lake Highlands High School.

This wonderful community is in close proximity to great shopping and dining options at NorthPark Center, Galleria Dallas and the Lake Highlands Town Center. At the south end of Lake Highlands is White Rock Lake, only one of dozens of parks Lake Highlands residents have easy access to. Residents also enjoy over 26 miles of trails, a variety of sports fields and many other recreational options. Major thoroughfares in and near Lake Highlands include the Central Expressway, I-635 and Loop 12, in addition to Abrams Road, Greenville Avenue, Skillman Street, Walnut Hill Lane and Plano Road, among others. With its many great neighborhoods, wonderful location and great schools, Lake Highlands is an excellent place to consider when buying in the Dallas area.
